So, this is what I ended up with after a long Christmas Eve and Christmas Day of painting, along with a stiff neck of course. I started painting at the other end of my kitchen, but got booted over to this end when Jeff decided he wanted to put in the under cabinet lights. I am not happy with this color. Yes, it looks great with the cabinets, but I do not like it next to the granite. Not at all.

I got more done in this area than this picture shows. I learned after this trial run only to tape one small area at a time and to do both coats, then move to another area. I taped a bunch of space that I never got to, then needed to take the tape off since I had to work several days in a row. Apparently, it can be bad to leave the tape on for too long.

My next plan is to work a few double-time shifts, get a couple painting quotes, then get down on my knees and beg my husband to have someone else come paint all the main areas of the house. Here is a picture of the test job I did the day my parents flew home. I wanted them to see a sample on the wall. At this point I actually liked the color.

Where is my Whitney at? I need you!!!
Here is a photo that explains what Jeff has been up to.

After lots of hard work, Jeff has added ten cans, three pendant lights, undercabinet lighting in the kitchen (picture didn't turn out) and a small hocky puck light in the little cut-out space in the hall leading to the master.

Who says it doesn't snow in Gilbert, AZ? Just come to the Irving's home when Jeff is in the attic cutting new holes in the ceiling.

And here he is before the bruises on the knees, a cut on his arm and scalp.

And we thought we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves post graduation... hmmm.
